Marty is an inspiration for tenacity and American values. After serving in the Navy aboard the USS Ranger (CV-61) in Helicopter Anti-Submarine Warfare Squadron 14 (HS-14), Marty returned to Texas to fulfill his life’s ambition of being a police officer. Hiring Freezes, budget cuts, politics, and many other reasons worked against Marty as he applied over and over in various law enforcement departments.
After 20 years of trying, he became a Police Officer in Houston, Texas. He was undaunted and tenaciously sought this role as a police officer. For his dogged pursuit of his dream, his superb service to his country, his relentless positive attitude, his total devotion to his wife, Elvia and his three sons, Marty is truly a hero to be honored. He loves his family, community, and country like no other.
