About HArriet

Medical or Healthcare Professional

In Honor of My Mom. For more than 44 years, my mother devoted her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Columbus Regional Hospital and Forsyth Memorial Hospital. But her service extended far beyond the hospital walls.

In our small community, where no doctor was available, she became far more than a nurse — she became a trusted caregiver, counselor, first responder, and, in many ways, the town’s doctor. Day or night, rain or shine, when someone was sick, injured, frightened, or in need, she answered the call.

She made house calls, responded to emergencies, and cared for neighbors without hesitation and without compensation. She did it simply because she cared deeply for her community and the people who depended on her.

Her compassion, dedication, and quiet strength touched countless lives. She never sought recognition for her service; helping others was simply who she was.

Today, we honor a woman whose life exemplified selfless service, unwavering commitment, and love for her community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she healed, comforted, and inspired.
